Young artists aged 5-18 can choose between six set courses, each 12-weeks long: Drawing Skills, Portraiture, Animals, Illustration, Still Life and Portfolio Preparation.

  • This course looks at how to replicate the textures of various animals, focusing on drawing skills and later watercolour painting skills. Students will learn how to create the illusion of hair, feathers, scales, slime and more. They will also learn about proportion, scale, colour and mark-making techniques. Plus, discover a new artist from history every week, famous for creating depictions of creatures from the animal kingdom.

  • By the end of this course, students will have a portfolio of portrait drawings and paintings that they have created while building skills to measure perfect proportions, mix skin tones, add textures, and much more. With inspiring introductions to some of the most famous portrait artists in history, this course is full of exciting exercises.

  • Students will journey through the building blocks of drawing, from line and shape all the way to rules of space and composition. Covering a range of art genres, such as still life, portraiture and landscapes, students will get the chance to learn about and try out a selection of subject matter and learn about some of the most famous and genius artists in history.

  • Get a taste of all the forms that illustration can take by trying your hand at fashion, comic and even food illustration! This course uses a range of materials, including pencils, pens, ink, paint and digital tools, but can be tailored to suit your requirements. Some drawing and painting techniques are taught throughout, but emphasis is placed more on expression and creativity, making this the perfect course for those looking to have fun with art.

  • This course is perfect for those with some drawing experience who are now aiming to develop their skills while working in a realistic manner. Students are set six 2-week drawing tasks that will culminate in a collection of still life drawings. The overall challenge on this course is to create your own character without thinking about how they look, instead by choosing the items that you imagine they would own. Each week sets a specific item for students to pick, where they can choose one image from a selection to become our photo reference for the a two-hour time period. This course reviews drawing principles such as value and tone. texture, mark making and pencil skills.

  • Whether you are in the process of completing a school art exam project or would simply like the experience of creating an artwork over multiple sessions, this course allows you to learn about the creative process and how to follow its cycle. Receive a different theme every four weeks to create a final piece in response to, and be guided through the steps of thinking, experimenting, researching, developing and evaluating your own unique work of art.

    Best suited for ages 12+, but can be adapted for younger ages on request.
